我個人認為是Intel的經典... 若是當初不放棄Tualatin,我認為Intel不會被AMD打的這麼慘

我不覺得...
Intel是非放棄Tualatin不可,因為時脈上不去了.... 有多少人見過P3 or P-M跑超過2GHz的?? |

以效能取向的話,又何必瘋狂拉高時脈? 從上面的文章看來 P-M 1.6 就足以跟 P4 2.2~2.4匹敵, 更不用說高時脈容易帶來大量廢熱 所以若是在 Tualatin上繼續發展,所謂低時脈高效能,可能就不是 A-XP 了

Tualatin同時脈底下也不是Axp的對手 P-M才贏過Axp 可是問題是Tualatin同製程底下時脈也拉不過Axp 若是intel那時沒有推出P4架構的話 2003年FSB800的P4完全壓住Axp的狀況可能就看不到了 繼續使用Tualatin更有可能ㄧ路被AMD壓著打 |

從另一個方向考慮
AMD-XP已經支援 DDR Intel-P!!! Tualatin卻僅支援 SDRM 雖然VIA有推出支援Intel-P!!! Tualatin 且可用DDR的Apollo Pro266 但對於效能提升卻無多大助益 畢竟PIII的FSB是133 AMD-XP卻由266起跳 AMD-XP的架構贏過PIII太多 不過相同時脈的PIII卻可以狂勝P IV 這是INTEL再不斷提升時脈下要回過頭來檢討的 畢竟高時脈代表高耗能 但是效能卻未必能同必提升 據說INTEL將用P-M系列的架構取代P-IV 用300-500-700系列來取代時脈命名 我想多少受到AMD K7/K8狂勝P-IV的影響 不過撇開CPU的架構 INTEL的系統晶片ChipSet及CPU多媒體指令（SSE/SSE2/SSE3）還是有一定的優勢 這是為何865/867+P-IV組合仍存在相當多支持的原因吧 |

的確啊,所以,我才會認為,若是對Tualatin改良,而不是全力推展P4,Intel 2001~2002 之間不會打的那麼辛苦,CPU被批性價比差... 不過,若是沒有P-4為新技術開路(SSE2,HT...etc),會不會有P-M也有點令人懷疑 另外,Intel的確打算在2006年以筆記型的CPU架構統一桌上型與筆記型...製程是65~45奈米,代號Merom的多核心CPU 應該不再只是HT虛擬另一顆,而是兩個或更多的核心
