In THE SUM OF ALL FEARS (2002), CIA analyst Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck, Changing Lanes) specializes in Russian political history. When an unknown figure named Nemerov (Ciaran Hinds, Road to Perdition) unexpectedly becomes the president of Russia, CIA chief William Cabot (Morgan Freeman, Along Came A Spider) looks to Ryan for advice. While Ryan believes Nemerov to be a man of peace, the U.S. President (James Cromwell, Space Cowboys) and his advisers do not agree.
