在本周索尼PS3新聞發布會舉行之前，NeoGAF論壇搶先泄漏了PS3首發時的可下載游戲的首批消息和截圖。除了之前宣布的免費PC游戲《fl0w》PS3版，還有《Blast Factor》，《Go Sudoku》，《Lemmings 2》，《Swizzleblocks》。此外還包括第三方游戲《Gripshift》，《Crash Carnage Ciaos》，《Wheel of Fortune》。價格方面則沒有消息透露。

S3首發游戲支持語音聊天 - 2006-10-18
next-gen.biz網站近日采訪了索尼電腦娛樂美國公司CEO Kaz Hirai。在采訪中，Hirai稱PS3的首發時就將支持語音聊天。

Hirai確認，PS3首發的主視角射擊游戲《Resistance: Fall of Man》將支持非常強悍的網絡功能。如40人聯網對戰，語音、文字、視頻聊天，下載附加內容如關卡、武器和人物等。

之前，人們從未確認PS3的視頻聊天能力，因為索尼沒有明確過PS3是否僅支持新的EyeToy HD攝像頭，還是兼容PS2的EyeToy。而根據Hirai的說法，很有可能在11月17號首發時，玩家就可以同時買到新的EyeToy HD，看到與你對戰玩家的面孔了。

索尼：PS3游戲容量明年逼近50GB - 2006-10-18
在EuroGamer的一次采訪中，索尼全球工作室總裁Phil Harrison為PS3廣受爭議的藍光技術辯解說PS3首發游戲已經快要用盡單層藍光光盤25GB的容量，而明年的游戲容量將逼近50GB大關。

Harrison以游戲容量來反擊PS3中的藍光驅動器純粹是用於推動這一用於電影的技術的說法。Harrison回應說：“這和電影沒有關系，DVD無法滿足這樣的數據消耗量，也無法滿足Cell和RSX對於數據的需求——（藍光驅動器）純粹是一款游戲設備，我們需要藍光來存儲PS3游戲所用的數據。”

顯然藍光光盤並非僅僅為了1080p的畫質，除了高分辨率的材質和高數量多邊形的建模，Harrison還希望開發人員把額外存儲空間用於畫面之外的東西，比如7.1聲道環繞音效，更多的角色語音，以及多變的動畫。

之前人們廣泛批評藍光驅動器提高了PS3的成本，其激光組件的缺貨也造成了PS3歐洲發售延期。Harrison今年早些時候宣布PS3游戲《Resistance》容量將達到20-25GB。

PS3升級版界面曝光 - 2006-10-18

ITmedia發布了數張升級版PlayStation 3 XMB（XrossMediaBar）界面的新照片。

從新界面圖片中我們得以一窺升級版PS3 XMB系統提供的數個主要亮點功能：PSP網絡連接選項，HDMI信息，圖片瀏覽器、11國語言支持，支持多用戶以及自動查找播放音樂CD數據庫等。

XMB最早出現於PSX，後成為PSP的標准菜單界面，PS3的XMB與PSP相當類似，主要項目分為玩家、設定、相片、音樂、影像、游戲、網絡、好友等8項，其中6項與PSP相同，包括子項目與操作接口也都大致雷同，可提供相片、音樂、影片播放，游戲執行，存盤管理，網頁瀏覽等功能。

PS3硬盤實物圖曝光 - 2006-10-19
法國PS3主題網站Play3-Live.com公布了一張新PS3硬件圖片——PS3專用硬盤。

“這張照片由PlayStation 3官方網站提供，圖片上硬盤將分為20GB、60GB兩種型號搭配兩種PS3主機套裝。Sony官方表示，用戶可以根據自己需求更換硬盤——只要是2.5英寸筆記本硬盤即可。”


這一點比XBOX360好多了....

PS3手柄電力超群 配對麻煩 - 2006-10-19
日本游戲網站披露，Sony新一代游戲主機PlayStation 3游戲手柄一次充滿後能夠提供30小時以上使用時間，充電時間則為2.5小時。

對於無線游戲手柄來說，30小時續航時間已經十分出色，不過，讓玩家略微失望的是，PS3游戲手柄內置電池並不可以更換——Xbox 360無線手柄則提供可更換電池組。

除此之外，PS3游戲手柄在每次重啟主機後需要通過USB連接線與主機進行配對後才可以使用。

目前Sony官方尚未對這些詳細情況進行確認。
