Rickie Weeks tied an NL record on Friday by scoring a run in a 17th straight game.
Weeks eclipsed Paul Molitor’s Brewers-record streak of 16 straight games in 1987 and tied the NL mark held by Rogers Hornsby in 1921 and Ted Kluszewski in 1954. The major league record is 18 games, held by Red Rolfe (1939) and Kenny Lofton (2000). Weeks actually scored three times today, giving him seven runs in four games. 今年只要不受傷!!我是很看好他的!! MLB reduced the suspension of designated hitter Shelley Duncan from three games to two.
It's apparently less illegal than it used to be to attempt to injure another player. Duncan, who spiked Akinori Iwamura while sliding into second base on March 12, will sit out games on Sunday and Monday. MLB reduced the suspension of outfielder Melky Cabrera from three games to two. Cabrera, who was suspended for apparently throwing a punch during an incident March 12 against the Rays, will miss the next two games. The Yanks have Hideki Matsui playing left field and Wilson Betemit DHing tonight. MLB reduced the suspension of outfielder Jonny Gomes from two games to one. It sounds like they're doing him a favor, but they're really not if they're going to force him to sit out tonight's game. He was supposed to make his first start of the season in the game against the Yankees. 判決出爐!!
