ALTHOUGH THE FATE OF HYNIX and its ocean of debt is not yet resolved, newspaper The Korea Times claimed today that Micron has already prepared a lengthy complaint just in case the Korean government bales it out.
The newspaper also warns that if Hynix collapses - leaving Samsung as the chief Dramurai in the country - that could push up the price of memory because the shared supply chain in Korea will suffer from the shortfall.

Micron, says the paper, is preparing a formal whinge against the Korean government, and it is backed by the US government which has already warned its friend in Asia not to back Hynix.

We wonder if the US government would bale out Micron if it was in a similar position?

Hynix may well convert its debt into equity and its main creditors, such as the Korean banks, are believed to favour this option.
