1st Region vs 3rd Region
I would like to ask about the difference in quality between R1 and R3 DVDs, in terms of both visual and sound effect. How big is the difference? People say it is great.
If really so, what makes the difference? Aren't they just copying digital datas? How come there would be such difference in quality? (Even when the packages are exactly the same) I really wanna know. Sorry for not putting it in Chinese, but you guys pls feel free to do it in Chinese. |

The difference between Region 1 & Region 3 DVDs:
Region 1: The quality of sound and visual data is the same with the ones in the original movie. Usually have special features (like "Behind the scenes", or "trailers") Usually have more different language tracks and subtitles. Several DVDs come with special items. (For Example, a free ticket of "The Mummy Returns" when you buy The Mummy: Ultimate Edition) Region 3: The quality of sound and visual data is slightly worse than its region 1 counterparts. Most dvds' special features are missing. Some dvds may not contain the special items. Above information comes from my experience of buying dvds. |

(Even when the packages are exactly the same) It depends subject to many factors: publisher or agent, copy of the film, price, market....etc. Of course most of factors are decided by publisher. This means they are responsible for the difference.
