聯發在去年底推出第二版支援P-SCAN的DVD PLAYER晶片組，使得3000元以下P-SCAN機種推出。
6月前後將推第三版支援MPEG 4的晶片，下半年就有3000元以下可以撥DIVX的PLAYER了。

Mediatek said the company scheduled to ship its
3rd version DVD-player single chip at end-2Q03. This 3rd version DVD-player
single chip is embedded with RF IC and MPEG4 decoder, which further save
system makers cost. Now Mediatek's 2nd version DVD-palyer single chip is
DVD-player single chip embedded with TV encoder and progressive scan. As we
know, ESS' DVD-player single chip embedded with TV turner is pretty similar
to Mediatek's 2nd version DVD-player single chip. In term of stock bonus
policy and employee bonus policy, Mediatek stressed the company trends to
pay higher percentage of cash dividend and lower percentage of stock
dividend for its stock bonus policy. The employee bonus ratio will also be
followed by its stock bonus policy. Mediatek scheduled to release dual mode
DVD-RW IC in 2Q03, DVD-recordable consumer IC in 3Q03, and handset IC
solution in 4Q03. The handset IC solution includes RF IC released, Baseband
IC released, and software embedded solution. The company targeted Korea and
Japan for its handset IC market.
