莎拉蜜雪兒吉蘭不續演魔法奇兵第八季

喬斯惠頓(Joss Whedon,X戰警,魔法奇兵芭菲創始人)在訪問中談到深受全美青少年喜愛的熱門影集"魔法奇兵(Buffy: the Vampire Slayer)終於在第七季下台一鞠躬.
"魔法奇兵"從97年在華納電視網(the WB)播出前五季後,可說幾經波折,因為負則製作的福斯(Fox)和華納之間的合約糾紛,第五季結尾便處死由女主角莎拉蜜雪兒吉蘭(Sarah Michelle Gellar)所飾演的芭菲,本影集之後找到新東家派拉蒙電視網(UPN),全新的第六季一點不比前五季遜色,喬斯更首度把歌舞劇(Buffy:the musical [once more with feeling])搬上小螢幕,劇中演員唱出自己的心聲,為影迷心目中最喜愛的一集!!但此影集因內容上談及吸血鬼的愛恨情仇,不大受艾美獎青睞,令製作人和主角群感到相當灰心,今年25歲的莎拉蜜雪兒吉蘭更是萌生去意,想追求她的電影事業.本影集在播出之後也成功為劇中受到詛咒的吸血鬼-天使(Angel)和芭菲前看護人(previous watcher)吉爾斯(Giles,由Anthony Steward Head飾演)另闢全新影集,"暗夜天使"目前在華納電視網播出,並期待會有全新一季,至於為吉爾斯打造的Ripper今年下旬會在英國BBC首播.魔法奇兵大結局預計5月20日播出,屆時"暗夜天使"主要演員會回來助陣客串演出,相信絕對不能錯過.喬斯也提到魔法奇兵的後續發展,另一個全新的延伸影集"有可能"包含魔法奇兵某些演員.

'Buffy' Creator Sad to See TV Series Go

NEW YORK - Joss Whedon, the creator and executive producer of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer (news - Y! TV)," said it's hard for him to believe the series is ending after seven seasons.

"Well, it's hard to think at all, or stand, or form vowel sounds, so maybe it's time to take a break," Whedon joked Thursday. "I'm just glad I can say we did our best on every single episode. We didn't always succeed, but we never slacked, and I'm immensely proud of my writers, actors and crew for that."

Production on the UPN series will end in April, and the last original episode is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. EDT May 20.

"Buffy," which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar (news) as a young woman burdened with the responsibility of killing suburban vampires, debuted in March 1997 on the WB, where it spent five seasons before moving to UPN.

Whedon has said he's planning a spinoff that may include some "Buffy" characters.
