Note- When playing a disc of poor quality, e.g., disc with off-centered hole, warped disc, imbalanced disc, the drive will automatically slow its rotation speed to a lower rate to ensure reliable reading. In such case, the transfer rate will be lower. Transfer rate of CD-ROM is specified with a 1.3mm linear velocity disc.

Disk Initializing Time Is the length of time beween disc spin-up and the drive reaching a pause on the first address after reading th TOC.

Startup Time (Spin Up) is the length of time beween the spindle stop condition of the drive unit and unit pausing on the address of track number one (after initialization, in response to the host computer sending a start command to the drive).
