It's been six months since the live-action version of 'Spider-Man' first went into production, but the hard slog is almost over, with director Sam Raimi telling Popcorn "we're just finishing up the last of the shoot."
According to the director "we've got about another three days of photography, then there's a week somewhere two months from now, but we're almost done."

The project has been without doubt one of the most high-profile to go into production this year, with the Internet swarming with rumours, on-set reports and purloined photographs. It's an interest that Raimi says he found hard to deal with. "I've never had anything to do with a film where people were really interested when we were making it, so it's a brand new experience for me."

The director goes on to explain the process has actually been quite "daunting", but says he hopes to "meet the expectation" of his 'Spider-Man' fans.

The film stars Tobey Maguire as the webbed one, a casting decision that has been much debated. Raimi's confident though that Maguire will impress everyone, explaining "I think people will see that he can play a very strong character, that's not just sensitive but has got a lot of muscle on him."

With filming all but finished, attention will now turn to the long process of post-production, a necessary requirement for a film that is likely to feature a lot of computer-generated shots.

Raimi says he's happy with the way planning the combination of computer creations and real-life stunts has worked out, describing the process of discussions, storyboards and filming as "like building a house."
