我將這封mail轉寄給我的朋友順便罵一下ICQ~~~
其中一個馬上回信了,他說有連上去試著看看如何收費然後就找出一堆破綻
這封回信我附在最下面,雖是英文,但是大家一定要讀讀
因為類似的騙局越來越多,大家多知道一些這些狗娘養的騙人的手法
就越減少一些被騙到的機會

We at ICQ would like to inform you that due to the most recent raise of the costs of supporting the services we provide a new very reasonable fee will be introduced for all ICQ users. It has become evident over the past year that we cannot maintain a free service, grow at our current rate and keep the level of service up to our standards, service up to our standards, all at the same time. The bottom line for us, like many other dot com companies, is that revenue and profit must now take a front seat ahead of user base and growth.

The fee is $9.99 and you will have to pay it only once.

After 1st of July 2003, however, all accounts, which have not been secured payment for, will be disabled or deleted. This is ALL you have to do to keep your account active. Don't reply to this mail.

Hi Pete:

I don't think this mail is sent from ICQ. A rumor or a fraud?
There are three resons as below (personal opinion) -

1. The link of the "ORDER" icon at the bottom of the mail has some problems in it.
If you click on it, you can find you will link to http://216.146.101.77:443/order.htm.
The URL http://www.icq.com:[email protected]:443/order.htm is redirect to http://216.146.101.77:443/order.htm.
This address and web page are weird. Its font and layout (STYLE) are different from http://web.icq.com.
The most unreasonable of all, this page has no certification and no encryption. (Ummm...this is not safe when data transmit on the network.)
You can try padding http://www.icq.com:index.html@ with any URL. For example: http://www.icq.com:[email protected]. what happened?
Guess what, you will link to http://tw.yahoo.com.
2. I can't find this news on http://web.icq.com (maybe......this is just that I didn't notice where it is..)
3. I never received such a mail, and never heared about this news before.

The Above is just my guess. Maybe I don't guess right or what.
By the way, if our ICQ will be charged $9.99 someday, I won't use it anyhow. :Q
