Iomega Launches DVD+RW/CD-RW Drive for Fast and Easy DVD/CD-burning

Saving and sharing video memories onto DVD# or CD more convenient with Iomega DVD+RW 4x2.4x12/CD-RW 16x10x40 EIDE (ATAPI) drive


Singapore, April 24, 2003 - Iomega Corporation , a global leader in reliable, portable data storage, today launched the Iomega® DVD+RW 4x2.4x12/CD-RW 16x10x40 EIDE (ATAPI) drive that is the perfect storage solution for the creative enthusiast who enjoys videos, music, and photos, and can now save and share their creations on DVD# or CD using a single drive.

With a 4x write and 2.4x rewrite speeds, this internal DVD+RW/CD-RW drive features the fastest DVD+RW burn speeds on the market today. Similar to existing Iomega CD-RW drives, this drive offers good Digital Audio Extraction (DAE) speed with Buffer UnderRun Protection, eliminating the risk of wasted DVD or CD media. It also comes with Hotburn® Pro software featuring advanced functionality for the easiest DVD and CD-burning and customisation. Other software include Iomega Automatic Backup software for hassle-free and reliable back-up of files and industry leading software for video editing and video playback.

Key features of the product include:

- Records up to 4.7GB of data files on a DVD disc, and up to two hours of high-quality DVD video (three hours regular video) on a DVD# or one hour of video on VCD media.
- Create and edit video DVD# discs and view them on most DVD players.
- Create and share music on CDs and play them on home, portable or car stereos.
- Buffer UnderRun protection that prevents the inadvertent destruction of blank DVDs or CDs during DVD-R or CD-R sessions. (This happens when the host computer cannot maintain a steady stream of data to the drive and typically renders the disk useless.)
- Reads and records DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-RW, and CD-R discs, and reads CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW discs.
- A software suite that includes Iomega Hotburn Pro for easy DVD and CD-burning and customisation, Sonic MyDVD� for video-editing to make great-looking home videos and business presentations, Sonic CinePlayer for highest quality video playback available for PCs, MusicMatch Jukebox music management and Adobe® ActiveShare photo management software, as well as Iomega Automatic Backup for reliable and hassle-free back-up to DVD or CD discs.

Availability
The new Iomega DVD+RW 4x2.4x12/CD-RW 16x10x40 EIDE (ATAPI) drive will be available from April 28, 2003 at the suggested retail price of US$279* from all Iomega authorised resellers.

Warranty and Service
The Iomega DVD+RW 4x2.4x12/CD-RW 16x10x40 EIDE (ATAPI) drive comes with a one year limited warranty.
