Introduction

Welcome to HDD Regenerator - the unique software program for regeneration of hard
disk drives. The program eliminates physical damages (bad sectors) of hard disk drive
surface. It does not hide bad sectors, it really restores them!

How does it work?

Almost 60 % of all damaged by bad sectors hard drives have incorrectly magnetized
disk surface. Our researches have been fruitful and we have found algorithm which
is special sequence of high and low level signals. These signals are generated by the
software and they switch damaged surface. Even low level formatting is not able to
handle this task!

The main benefits of HDD Regenerator

HDD Regenerator regenerates bad sectors by magnetic reversal. If your hard drive is
damaged by bad sectors, the disk not only becomes unfit for use, but also you risk to
lose information stored on the disk. HDD Regenerator will regenerate your hard disk
(almost 60 % of damaged hard disks are subject to regeneration). As a result, not
readable damaged information will be restored. With all this going on the existing
information will not be affected!

Minimum system requirements

This Software is optimized for Microsoft Windows operating system. The regeneration
process can be started directly in Windows 95/98/ME environment. It is also possible to
use the Software on computer with Windows NT/2000/XP operating system installed. In
this case regeneration can not be started directly from Windows, but you can create
bootable regenerating diskette to implement regeneration.

How to use this program

Install the HDD Regenerator on your computer. Open HDD Regenerator Shell to start regeneration,
create bootable regenerating diskette, purchase or register (if already purchased) the software.
If you use unregistered software, you are able to regenerate only the first bad sector found.
The main purpose of the unregistered demo version is to display the report which contains the
information about the possibility to regenerate your disk by means of the registered full version.
This onscreen information appears in Console Application when regeneration process completed.
The registered version carefully scans the hard disk drive surface and regenerates all bad sectors
found.
To begin regeneration start HDD Regenerator Console Application. This Console Application
implements the regenerating process. You can start the Console Application directly from
Windows (available only in Windows 95/98/ME) or create bootable regenerating diskette
(available in Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP)
To start the Console Application directly from Windows
1. Start HDD Regenerator Shell
2. Choose Regeneration -> Start Regeneration menu
To create the bootable regenerating diskette
1. Start HDD Regenerator Shell
2. Choose Regeneration -> Create Diskette menu
3. After the diskette is created, boot your computer from this diskette and the Console Application
will start automatically.

Working with HDD Regenerator Console Application

After you start the Console Application
1. Choose the drive to regenerate
2. Enter the 'offset from the beginning' parameter. Leave this parameter equal to 0 if you
want to scan the entire disk. Enter the offset value if you want to scan the disk not from
the beginning. For example, you don't want to scan the first 5 GB of your hard drive to
save time, because you know that this part of the surface is good. In this case enter the
offset equal to 5000 with 'm' following or 2560000 without 'm' following (number of sectors
500x512=2560000)
3. Wait while the scanning is completed. If you have unregistered version, you'll receive
onscreen report about the possibility to regenerate your disk by means of the registered
full version. If you have registered version you may find the report about regenerated
sectors in hddreg.log file.

How to Register

To register the software start HDD Regenerator Shell.
If you have already purchased the registered version, choose
Full Version->Enter Registration code to enter registration information.
If you have not purchased the full registered version, choose
Full Version->Purchase Online to register the software online.
The full version of the software will available after the registration.

The important notes

HDD Regenerator works exclusively at physical level and does not influence on logical
structure of the disk. In this connection, the file system may contain marked earlier bad
sector labels, even if your hard disk is already regenerated and not cracked by bad
sectors. If you want to remove these marks, repartition your hard disk drive or take
advantage of PowerQuest PartitionMagic.
