川普政府5日公布首份全面性安全保障政策《國家安全戰略》（NSS），
這份戰略多次提到台海議題，有專家發現美國對兩岸關係論述的用字有變。 文件中一段在華府引發廣泛討論的內容指出， 美國將維持其「長期的宣示性政策」（longstanding declaratory policy）， 並說這意味著「美國不支持任何片面改變台海現狀的行為」。 前美國國務院中國政策顧問、現為華府智庫美國企業研究所（AEI）研究員的費瑞安 （Ryan Fedasiuk）在Ｘ平台發文也指出這點： 「事實上，這確實偏離了美國長期以來在台灣議題上的宣示性政策。 美國過去的立場一直是「反對」（oppose）任何片面改變台海現狀的行為。 但2025年的《國家安全戰略》卻改成僅僅「不支持」（not support）這類改變。」 中時
