I'm a beginner, so my questions may sound stupid to you guys... ^^"
And my speed of typing Chinese is very slow, so please forgive me using English... ^^"
I've read all your posts in this thread, but I'm still confused.....
I've downloaded an avi file, it's of 624 x 352 (~ 16:9). I'm going to encode it into SVCD. I don't have DVD player or widescreen TV now, but I may have it in the future. Therefore, I would like to ask some questions:
1) I'm using TMPGEnc. In order to retain the capability of playing in widescreen TV, can I choose the aspect ratio as 16:9? If I do so, and if the SVCD is played by a DVD player + normal TV, will the DVD player add black blocks to the movie (or letterbox) itself?
2) When I unlock the aspect ratio in TMPGEnc (the default is 4:3, not 16:9), there is a warning saying 'You're about to unlock the limitation. If you unlock this, the file would be out of standard. User must agree with doing this by his/her own risk! No one would help/ support for any result arising from such unlocked setting. Do you agree?'. Would it be any problem if I unlock this setting? (I tried not unlocking this one and it still encoded my file into 4:3).
