How to use the burners should be part of FAQ. Audio wise as long as you have a good source (DAT, CD, etc.) the media and burner combination decides the quality of the burn more than anything else.
Video wise, its the same if your source mpg is the same.
Besides there is a DV forum here for video editing questions.
Harddrive and other storage devices related discussions is something we do lack.
