NBA Releases First DVD


NEW YORK, Oct. 10— The NBA's first-ever DVD, Greatest NBA Finals Moments, produced by NBA Entertainment and distributed by USA Home Entertainment, is available online at The NBA Store on NBA.com, in stores across the country or via telephone at 1-800-622-0548 for a suggested retail price of $24.95.

"DVD-ROM technology allows us to give our fans a new interactive experience and showcase NBA Entertainment's exclusive footage like we never have before," said Charles Rosenzweig, Director and Group Manager of Entertainment and Player Marketing, NBAE. "The DVDs contain interactive elements with never-seen-before feature footage, play diagrams, still photography and statistics. Our goal is to continue to release new DVDs, then go back and enhance NBAE's catalog of home videos and re-release many of them with new interactive features and additional footage all in audio surround-sound."

The Greatest NBA Finals Moments main program contains seven in-depth chapters accessible at the push of a button including:


1969 NBA Finals: Russell's Last Stand -- The Boston Celtics' improbable and emotional triumph over the Lakers in Bill Russell's last game in 1969.

1970 NBA Finals: Here Comes Willis -- New York Knicks center Willis Reed's legendary return against Wilt Chamberlain and the Lakers in Game 7 of the 1970 Finals.

1976 NBA Finals: The Greatest Game Ever -- The triple-overtime classic between the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics in 1976, commonly considered the NBA's greatest game.

NBAE and USA Home Entertainment also announced plans to release the Official 2000 NBA Championship DVD in November.
