I definitely would go with JBL if I have to choose between JBL and Bose. Bose speakers are known to be over-priced, over-rated and over-hyped. The speakers do not excel in any aspect and due to the fact that Bose do a lot of advertisement, their speakers cost the consumers a fortune. I don't know about the prices in HK but I would assume that the prices there are much more reasonable than those of Taiwan. Other brands that you could consider are: Mission, Infinity, Psb, and Energy. JBL speakers are known to have a warmer and rounder sound and a deeper bass. If you do decide to invest on them, I guess it would be comforting to know that you probably don't have to buy a separate subwoofer. Even if you changed your mind and want to buy a subwoofer, JBL's PB12 is an excellent choice.
