Long one of the DVD format's weakest-looking discs, Highlander is finally being reissued from Anchor Bay with a new picture transfer and an audio restoration supervised and approved by the film's producer William Panzer. Here are the specs:

A single disc version ($14.98) will feature the new 16x9 transfer of the extended director's cut, newly remastered DTS-ES 6.1/DD 5.1 EX/DD 2.0 Surround audio tracks, an audio commentary with director Russell Mulchahy and producers Peter S. David & William Panzer, trailers, talent bios and a DVD-ROM weblink.
Then, in true Anchor Bay style, there's HIGHLANDER: THE IMMORTAL EDITION. This limited 2-disc set ($39.98) will come packaged in a silver tin and will include the same specs as the single disc as well as a special booklet with photos and liner notes and the following additional extras: DISC ONE - Poster and Still Gallery; Queen Music Videos: "Who Wants To Live Forever", "A Kind Of Magic", and "Princes Of The Universe"; Queen Still Gallery; DVD-ROM Link to Queen Online.
