小弟本人五四三的見解：「MO 在可見的未來會被淘汰」。
原因：
1. 640 MB 的 MO 機器/片子比 CD-RW 貴。
2. 1.3/2.3 G 的 MO 機器雖然比 DVD-RW, DVD+RW 貴，但到了年底就很難說了，原因大家應該都知道。
3. 普及率太低，製造廠商太少，而且看不出來有任何殺手及程式或用途可以讓 MO 起死回生；反之，CD-RW 的用途大家也應該都知道，加上價錢便宜，「可攜性」極高，反觀 MO 就要隨身帶著走，不然遇到對方沒有 MO 只好乾瞪眼。另外 DVD-/+RW 的用途，不難猜想使用者會拿去幹嘛，所以未來一片光明。「燒錄技術進步幕後的無名英雄，啊∼摳匹啦！」這句話全球通用。
老實說，CD-RW 的 DirectCD 功能和 MO 其實差不多了...

DCD和MO可差的遠了~
MO的市場和CDRW的市場有區隔的~並不是完全重疊~
