AVR-4802 A/V Receiver: World's First Component with DTS 96/24, DPL2 and THX 6.1
Denon's new THX Ultra-certified AVR-4802 A/V surround receiver offers more features and performance than ever before in its category, and is the world's first component to incorporate decoding for the recently announced DTS 96/24 5.1 format for DVD-Video. The AVR-4802 also sets a new standard as being the world's first component to utilize THX 6.1 post-processing for DTS ES Discrete 6.1 bitstream-encoded program material, and THX post-processing for Dolby Pro Logic II. The AVR-4802 includes seven channels of high-power amplification, Dolby Digital, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding, true 24-bit/96kHz digital input capability, 50 MHz bandwidth component video switching and numerous additional advanced features.
The AVR-4802 incorporates leading edge Analog Devices SHARC DSP processing and Denon's proprietary DDSC-D (Dynamic Discrete Surround Decoder-Digital) circuitry for unsurpassed audio fidelity, and is designed for exceptional installation flexibility including independent two-zone multi-room operation. Installation features include remote in/out connections, an RS-232 port for third-party controllers, and completely independent operation of main and secondary zones. (SRP: $2,500.)
