50++ degree celsius is definitely not the reason why your computer would hang at random, TB1.4Ghz at default can operate at 60++ degree Celsius reliably.

you will regret saying this......) BTY, I have a TB1533 at 1.775v Vcore, idle at 45 degree and full load at 54 degree. Rock Solid running win2k.

1) I suggest you replace the RAM and see if the problem persist.
2) If you are running anything like win9x, upgrade to WINDOWS2000.
3) the third possible cause is your power supply, is possible, loan a better one from your friend and see if it solve your problem.
well, improve ventilation in the casing often helps, the best way to test this is to direct a table fan blowing into the motherboard itself.
