<轉貼>而在併購另一家硬碟大廠昆騰(Quantum)之後，Maxtor也將昆騰原先發展中的火球系列(Fireball)一併推出，也就是所謂的新火球系列，新火球一代(DiamondMax D540X)單碟容量也高達40GB，共有40GB、60GB與80GB三種總容量。平均資料搜尋時間約12ms，支援防震技術、資料防護軟體技術與QDT靜音技術。
代理商建達國際表示，三款全新系列的硬碟都將陸續在台上市，其中星鑽二代的40GB款價格約3,900元，60GB價格約5,900元，80GB約8,900元，100GB約10,900元，而新火球一代的價格也與星鑽二代同容量機種相同。另外，美鑽二代20GB為3,600元。明顯可見的是，因為這一款與40GB的星鑽二代差價非常接近，因此相信許多消費者還是會以40GB為採購目標。
不知道......還有沒有Quantum歷年來的品質
