I think it's nothing to do with "梅花(紅) or 梅花(白)"

Since both creative 5.1 and TSS-1 equiped with Dolby Decoder,
except chosing the Digital out, you should disable the Dolby decoder of your sound card. I also met the problem when connecting these devices.
