Luxury car manufacturer BMW's recently-launched collection of short films, found at BMWFilms.com, will be finding their way to DVD.

An early believer in the potential of short digital films, Executive Producer David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en) was instrumental in working with BMW to create The Hire Film Series. He contributed to the success of each film from the concept stage to the writing to the selection of directors, including John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Wong Kar-Wai, Guy Ritchie, Ben Younger and Alejandro González Iñárritu.

There are currently four films available for download: Ambush (d: Frankenheimer), Chosen (d: Lee), The Follow (d: Kar-Wai) and Star (d: Ritchie). Once the the fifth and final film is released, Powder Keg (d: González Iñárritu), a DVD containing all five films will be made available according to BMW's own site.

In addition to the films, the site offers the films with DVD-like features such as compelling "Sub-Stories", director commentaries, photo galleries and detailed highlights of the vehicles driven in the series. Presumably, these features will also find their way to the DVD. Stay tuned for an exact release date.
