-The teaser trailer will be attached to prints of Final Fantasy for sure. Teaser posters should hit movie theaters a week prior or after.

-Merchandise will hit the second week in March 2002.

-The DVD (Yes, you read that right) will be released either during the Thanksgiving holiday or Christmas holiday, 2002.

Now how do I know this?? To make a long story short I got into a small *ahem* legal complication (It wasn't my fault!) regarding something I was selling on eBay and was contacted by the person in charge of Business and Legal affairs with Sony Pictures, and more directly, the Spider-Man film. After clearing everything up (Hey, I said it wasn't my fault! Whatever...) we began to talk about the film to which the person gave me all that information.

Yes, they are already working on the DVD. Talk about strategizing and planning ahead. Sheesh. Not only did this person give me dates for cool swag, they had seen the teaser trailer that will be attached to Final Fantasy and although they couldn't divulge actual scenes, they said "Sony spent a lot of money and...it's badass." Yeah, an executive at Sony actually said that.

What's more, this person had been to the L.A. set a number of times and couldn't stop talking about how cool and nice every single person was. The person said they had been to a lot of film sets and this was by far the most fun and laid-back, despite the scope of the project.

As a side-note, the person said that Willem Dafoe would be helping the crew clean up the set when they would wrap at the end of the day, sweeping aisle ways and picking up garbage, etc. I thought that was pretty damn cool.

I should also mention that the toy line MIGHT be pushed back, as toy line releases tend to get screwed with (I.E. Movie Maniacs 4 was to be released in June...now it's October) so keep an eye out.
