先check firmware(Bios) 版本,Power up your 715 with no disc in the tray. Wait until it says "no disc" on the LED display.
Press Setup / Slow / Skip Backward (|<< ) / 3.
You should now see FAR0XENX--3E, or something like it, on the top left of the screen. The important part is the last two characters, "3E".舉此例則3E就是firmware 版本.
version 3H可以改全區及解防拷,( Yamakawa backgrounds instead of the Raite backgrounds you have now), with menus in English, NTSC output, ability to disable Macrovision and choose region code (or code-free). 41 version is newer than the the 3H.But 41 doesn't allow you to change regions or disable Macrovision, so some feel that it's worth to downgrade to 3H in order to have those capabilities.

To disable Macrovision:
Press Stop / Stop / Setup / Slow / Skip Forward (>>|) / Pause
Once the M appears on the top left corner, press Stop / Play / Play and your DVD will play without Macrovision.
This is not a permanent toggle. You'll need to do this every time you want to disable Macrovision. Once you turn the player off, it forgets this setting.
To change Region Codes:
Press Stop / Stop / Setup / Slow / Skip Backward (<<|) / Skip Forward (>>|)
Once the *A* appears on the top left corner, press Left or Right to switch through the different world regions. Keep in mind that *A* = Region 1, *B* = Region 2, etc. *** = Region-Free.
When you get to the region you want, press Play / Play and you'll be able to play DVDs made for that region.
Some smart DVDs will not play if you have your player set to Region-Free. In those cases, simply switch to whatever region the disc was made for.
This is a permanent toggle. The player will remember this setting once you turn it off and back on.
