基本上 就我實際用過VMWARE & VirtualBox
這兩套較為常見的虛擬機

平台為E6300 (支援VT)+ 965P ICH8R 4G RAM
使用軟體為Ethereal (Wireshark)
AutoCAD 2008
Symantec Endpoint Protection SEP manager



以下是我測試過的組合
guest皆為MS Windows


host:Windows XP 32-bit
guest:Windows Vista 32-bit

安裝過程無問題，使用上並無明顯差異

host:Windows XP 32-bit
guest:Windows Vista 64-bit

使用VirtualBox在安裝過程中曾當機過一次
但重新安裝後又無問題，使用上並無明顯差異

host:Ubuntu 64-bit
guest:Windows XP 32-bit

Ubuntu在安裝VirtualBox及vmware皆無發生問題
在guest中的實際使用效能，感覺Linux host較windows host高

host:Slackware 32-bit
guest:Windows XP 32-bit

軟體效能上無論host及guest皆出奇的順暢
讓我蠻意外的

但在host安裝vmware時發生了一些問題
幸好google上有解決方案



虛擬機版本：
VMware workstation 6.5.0-118166
VirtualBox 2.1.0
Virtual PC 2007 SP1

以Linux 作 host 的效能
VMware = VirtualBox

以Windows 為 host 的效能
VirtualBox > VMware > Virtual PC
奇怪的是MS自家的Virtual PC居然是效能最差的
不知原因為何？


Ps.
別問我為什麼無 Windows host + Linux guest 的組合
只因我私心的認為
在Windws上裝Linux絕對不是效能及安全性的保證


順帶一提，曾在guest Windows中試玩過 AOE3
居然可以跑
但效能差強人意就是... 但至少可以玩
