MLB reduced the suspension of designated hitter Shelley Duncan from three games to two.

It's apparently less illegal than it used to be to attempt to injure another player. Duncan, who spiked Akinori Iwamura while sliding into second base on March 12, will sit out games on Sunday and Monday.

MLB reduced the suspension of outfielder Melky Cabrera from three games to two.

Cabrera, who was suspended for apparently throwing a punch during an incident March 12 against the Rays, will miss the next two games. The Yanks have Hideki Matsui playing left field and Wilson Betemit DHing tonight.

It sounds like they're doing him a favor, but they're really not if they're going to force him to sit out tonight's game. He was supposed to make his first start of the season in the game against the Yankees.
