u got to be kidding me...fluent in english only took ur cousin 2 years??? he must be a laguage genius or something with that kind of way of learning...by the way...capable of speaking eng. with a whitey doesn't necessary mean you are "GOOD" in english...

Unlike you, I don't doubt his story. I moved into US in the middle of 8th grade. I was originally put in ESL, but I got out of it in 6 month (that includes a 2.5 month summer vacation that I essentially did nothing all day.). I pretty much used the same strategy that his cousin used. I think it's a very effective way of learning a language.
