Go msdn.com, search "creating karaoke", and you'll be able to download a plugin for windows media player to cancel out the lead vocals (karaoke!?).

This plugin will not work for all songs, but so far I tested, it worked on most of mp3 songs. Take a look on why and how it works; it is a fun topic.
