能保存幾年都是廠商用加速試驗推估
。Verbatim 對其生產的測試樣品，推估 +/-RW 有 50 年，+/-R 有 100 年。但當過了 49 年後出問題，廠商大概也不會理你。

保存多久，除了「燒錄片」的品質、「燒錄時」的品質之外，「保存環境與方式」也是很重要。美國 NIST 的「Care and Handling Guide for the Preservation of CDs and DVDs - A joint Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) and NIST project」有相關研究 (上連結中有該文網址)。
重要資料多重備份 + 定時檢查，可能會比較有保障。
