mac mini is quite slow. you won't feel like you are getting a new computer.

imac is a better choice. you don't need to buy apple ram. any ddr333, or ddr400 is ok. get the 1G model so you can upgrade to 2G in the future.

if you are using it for photoshop. i think wintel is faster for the same money. however, imac looks very cool.
