我在網路上查K8T890晶片組的時候,
發現它是由北橋控制pci express
而非intel晶片組是由南橋控制...
這樣有什麼好處呢? 我貼一下via的說法...

那我忽然想到一個問題啦...
既然把pci express由北橋控制,能有上述好處...
那為何把南北橋合一,由單晶片控制一切的晶片組,一直那麼少?
(我有印象的是幾年前的sis 730s)

我猜"升級"也許是一個因素--
規格變化太快,總不能為了配合一個規格,要重新設計製造一個晶片組;
傳統的南北橋,遇到新規格,只要重新設計新北橋or南橋,就解決了.
這樣反而比較有彈性...
我這樣猜測對嗎?

那還有什麼其他因素呢? 請各位大大指教...
