Potential Microsoft Windows* XP SP2 install issue with Prescott C-0 stepping
An issue has been identified that occurs while installing Microsoft Windows XP SP2 on a limited number of systems running a BIOS without production support for the Intel® Pentium® 4 and Intel® Celeron® D processors based on the Prescott core
The issue is limited to systems utilizing the C-0 stepping (CPUID – 0F33h, family 3, model 3, stepping 3) processor with a BIOS version that is “out of specification”
“Out of specification” is defined as the OEM’s platform BIOS that does not include Intel production support for the installed processor
The issue has been identified as a system hang on the first reboot during installation of Microsoft Windows XP SP2
The system will continue to hang until a stand alone boot procedure is utilized to install the latest production BIOS
Microsoft Knowledge base article expected the week of August 30th
大意是說prescott 有一批貨安裝WINXP-SP2會發生開不了機的問題
