第一部是德國表現主義大師佛列茲朗(Fritz Lang)導演的長篇史詩巨片--[尼布龍根](Die Nibelungen, 1924), 分成上下兩集--"Siegfried"和"Kriemhilds Rache", 片長將近五個小時, 據說場面雄渾有力, 如詩如畫, 是不朽的經典名作. 不過, 這個是黑白默片, 現代人可能較難適應.

Standard muscleman fantasy finds Siegfreid (Pietro Torrisi) fighting evil personified in the guise of Morak (Harrison Muller). Morak is the son of the devil's messenger, Belial (also played by Muller). Morak is attempting to take the throne of evil "on the day of the night in the day", or rather during an eclipse. To escape instant death by flames, before sitting on the throne, he must also wed Valkari (Sabrina Siani). Siegfried who is invulnerable except to fire and gains temporary powers of invisibility (per "The Rings of Nibelung"), of course, battles Morak to save the beloved princess.
