But the long and the short of it is that Socket 940 requires a 6 to 9 layer motherboard and Socket 939 only requires a 4 layer design, making the motherboards much cheaper for chips using the latter......

還沒機會看到 socket 939 的腳位定義,不過看來應該是有做修改 (或許是記憶體端吧,線最多所以最擠),讓所有的訊號線能在兩層走完吧~

唉... 主機板到現在還是很難擺脫四層版的悲慘命運... T___T
