I guess lah...AMD has to close down the Tbred production line in order to free up the yield for upcoming Athlon 64 and Opteron.
But in such critical time when the newer generation of processor cant 100% replace the market, they need the good old Athlon to sustain the market share/demand.
That's why the Barton line will be continued.

Last time the K6 line was being continued until the Tbird/Duron line fully occupied the market.

Actually K6-2+ which has 128KB L2 built in is partially defective K6-3+ with 256KB Cache.
Celeron with coppermine core and tualatin core are partially defective Pentium 3 too.

They use laser to burn the circuit.
So cant enable the cache, most probably.

Only the die cut from the edge of wafer will have partially defective/masked L2 Cache.
So the purity may not be higher.
So almost 70% can guarantee this Thorton won't have very high ocability like Tbred B gem.
