關於自己買回來的R1 DVD可以出租的疑問我表弟的回答是
在著作權法中有第一次銷售理論(或耗盡理論)，即著作之原作或重製物，第一次合法出售後，著作權人之權利已耗費殆盡，著作權人不得對出售之重製物禁止他人出售、出租、出借。這在著作權法第六十條：「合著作重製物之所有，得出租該重製物。但錄音及電腦程式著作之重製物，不適用之。」亦根據該理論而制定的，惟須注意不得公開播送、放映，此為著作權人之專有權利。
所以只要不公開播送，放映...出租R1，港版的DVD是不違法的囉...
