divX 4.12中
有一項壓縮的功能variable bitrate mode他的選項中有什麼1-pass 2-pass
是幹嘛用的啊??有什麼分別嗎???

1-pass -> CBR
1-pass quality -> VBR

2-pass first -> 分析影像, 產生資料給 second 用
2-pass second -> 運用 first 產生的資料作精密壓縮

我覺得不完全對,修改一下

(X)1-pass -> CBR

(O)1-pass -> ABR: 由使用者指定平均的Bitrate(與其他參數)的VBR

1-pass quality -> 由使用者決定的影像品質參數決定Bitrate的VBR

2-pass first -> 分析影像, 產生資料給 second 用
2-pass second -> 運用 first 產生的資料作精密壓縮

對喔...還有個 ABR....average bit rate.

在 divx 4.2 help 有說到這段

Constant bitrate mode
-> CBR
Constant bitrate mode is aimed at producing output with a fixed average
bitrate.
-> CBR 模式定位在最終輸出結果是固定的 ABR
When this mode is turned on, the encoder automatically adjusts level of compression for your media as it is compressed.
-> 當此模式啟動, 編碼器自動為你的媒體 (media) 調整壓縮階層.
Long high-motion scenes will cause it to increase compression level;
and likewise, scenes with low or no motion will be compressed less.
-> 高移動量場景變換會增加壓縮階層 (應該是指自動加入 key frame)
-> 低或不移動的將被壓縮的更小
There are several parameters that control compression in this mode.
Bitrate
-> 他有數個參數去控制在此模式壓縮.

故....1 pass -> ABR
現在講到 1-pass quality-based mode

In this mode, all frames receive the same amount of compression, without regard to their complexity.
-> 在此模式下, 所有「格」將採取相同程度的壓縮, 不管他們的複雜度.
While it is not the best choice for making archives, it is a good idea to use this mode when preparing content for future editing.
-> 雖然此法並非製作成品的最佳選擇, 但仍對於預備將來後製作是一個不錯的點子.
It guarantees the preservation of quality in all frames.
-> 他保證每一格的品質.

不對，1-pass quality-based mode 做出的是VBR，為了維持固定的品質（所以使用相同程度的壓縮）；導致在越複雜的場景Bitrate越大，越簡單的場景Bitrate越小
所以它是「無法預測bitrate的VBR」
