The IGN DVD Release FAQ
Wondering when that favorite movie is coming out on DVD? Find the answers in here.

Every day, our email box is flooded with questions about when a specific movie will hit DVD. So, instead of repeating the same question over and over in the letters section each week, we've created this FAQ with the most-asked questions about certain DVD releases.
We'll update this list from time to time as discs are released or the status on titles change.

The Simpsons Season 2
We're asked about this more than Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Back to the Future combined. The latest word out of Fox is to look for the second season around Easter.

The Star Wars Trilogy
Lucas has said that the discs are on the way, but not to expect them for some time. If you want a realistic date, 2005 or 2006 would probably be it.

The Indiana Jones Trilogy
Thankfully, we won't have to wait for these too long. Recent rumors floating around say that the set was going to be released this past holiday season, but The Godfather Collection was put in its place. While there isn't any official announcement, don't be surprised if you see the films on DVD within the next two years.

The Back to the Future Trilogy
Universal said last year that these DVDs were on their 2002 slate, but things seem to have changed. The latest word is that there may be a theatrical re-release of the trilogy first, which will be followed by a DVD release.

Goodfellas: Special Edition
This popular mob flick came out on DVD back when the format was new in 1997 and was a bare-bones flipper disc that left fans wanting more. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on a new edition, but we'll keep you posted.

Pulp Fiction: SE
Distant rumors have this disc in the works for an eventual release alongside a Jackie Brown: SE, but there hasn't yet been a 100% official announcement.

Schinlder's List
Look for this one sometime this year, although an official release date has not been set.

Family Guy, King of the Hill, and other TV series currently on Region 2 DVD
A lot of times, series are released in foreign markets on DVD due to them either not airing there or not being scheduled to air there for quite some time. While they may eventually be released in the US, it can take some time for the studio to come to such a decision, especially if the series is still in its first or second season.
