DVD-R DL Disc for Video Achieves 8x Recording Speed

Taiyo Yuden announced that its new single-sided dual-layer DVD-R (DVD-R DL)
disc for video archiving purposes with 8x recording speed will on sale July
1st under the company's "That's" brand.

A DVD recorder capable of 8x recording speed can record 215 minutes of video
data saved on a hard disk with standard definition onto the DVD-R DL disc in
about 15 minutes.

Taiyo Yuden utilized its high-level core technologies in thermal design and
substrate design to achieve a DVD-R DL capable of 8x recording speed, the
fastest in the industry.

This product can record on DVD-R DL up to 215 minutes of video data of
standard definition in about 15 minutes.

The new DVD-R DL product is available in two types, one for regular analog
broadcast video, and the other with CPRM compatibility for digital broadcast
?copy once programs,? so-called because they limit digital recording to one
copy only.

Moreover, a wide printable label extends the printable range by 10mm further
inside than regular printable label type, allowing more flexibility for
inkjet printers.

Sales are to start July 1 in Japan with a 5-disc pack in a slim plastic case.
Prices will be set as open prices.

不過國內應該也是不容易買到...

DVD-R DL....不會想去買...
有CPRM需要的可以考慮DVD-R DL for CPRM..

為什麼 dvd-r dl 的片子不想買呢?

DVD-R DL 現在的燒錄機有支援嗎？？？

懷疑中

1.DVD-R規格方面比DVD+R差...這個自己去搜尋...
像是ECC方面DVD+R就比DVD-R完善

2.DVD-R DL的相容性比DVD+R DL的還要差
DVD-R在一些舊的撥放器相容性比DVD+R還要好的原因是較早開發出來
DVD+R加進了Booktype技術，讓一些較早的機器(3年以前吧)也可以讀取
(較早的機器能讀DVD-R還是DVD+R Booktype是不一定的，要自己測)

但是在現在的撥放器DVD+R DL是預設有Booktype的
相容性比DVD-R DL還要好

如果說為了身邊的撥放器為了2捨棄1還沒話說
但是DVD+R DL在1、2兩個方面都比DVD-R DL還要好
沒有什麼理由買DVD-R DL吧...

DVD-R DL都大量鋪貨了怎麼會沒有燒錄機支援 :laugh:

前代機種
像是NEC 3550、Pioneer A10、BenQ DW1640都支援了吧...
最新的更不用說了

機子早就支援了
只是品質/價格不容易被接受
