請問有誰知道教父(The Godfather)的DVD什麼時候出呢?
好想看呦....

我也想知道說~~
尤其是第一&第二集~~~~
第三集就....有點....
雖然....是三集連貫的......但還是覺得1,2是經典~~

外星人明年3月美國會重映,我想台灣應該也會,所以DVD應該比較不可能這麼快發行!!

Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola finally and officially confirmed that the Godfather series will be released to DVD this Fall while at the Cannes Film Festival.

Calling his Godfather trilogy "the big ones," Coppola groused that Paramount Pictures has done a poor job archiving original Godfather materials, especially in comparison with his own company Zeotrope and its preservation of Apocalpyse Now footage. This means that the Godfather project has required a tremendous amount of work.

Coppola would not reveal the exact release date because he is waiting for Paramount to make the official announcement. But he enthused about the DVD explosion which has led to the preservation of some older films and the better presentation of newer ones with extra materials. "DVD is the friend of filmmakers," Coppola said.

The new three-hour, 23-minute version of Coppola's 1979 anti-war masterpiece Apocalypse Now also made its world premiere last night to mostly rave reactions.

JUNE 1 | In a throwback to the days of lavish video promotions, Paramount Home Entertainment and Francis Ford Coppola are taking to the streets of Brooklyn, N.Y., for a June 11 media event to announce the DVD release of the three Godfather films this fall.

Following a 4 p.m. news conference, Paramount and the Oscar-winning director will host an Italian street festival on 8th Street between 3rd and 4th avenues in the Park Slope neighborhood. The street will be decorated to take on the look and feel of '50s New York, the setting for the majority of the first two Godfather epics. Nearly 1,000 guests are expected to attend.

Not coincidentally, the gala is being staged on the block where the Morisi-Coppola Pasta Factory is located. The event is also being used to promote Coppola's new line of pasta, Festa Macaroni.

Paramount's top video executives are scheduled to attend, led by Eric Doctorow, president of Paramount Home Entertainment Worldwide; Meagan Burrows, executive VP of sales and marketing; Michael Arkin, senior VP of marketing; Phil Jackson, president of Paramount Home Entertainment International; and Martin Blythe, VP of publicity.

Coppola's American Zoetrope Studios will also be represented by Kim Aubry, technical director and VP for engineering and technology.

According to the invitation, printed in the same font used in the Godfather films' theatrical and video ad campaigns, "other specially invited guests and members of the family" will be on hand.

Sources said the Godfather films will be part of a special edition boxed collection that includes Coppola commentary tracks, documentaries, featurettes and deleted scenes.

The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974) each won the Academy Award for best picture and, combined, took home nine Oscars. The Godfather Part III (1990) was nominated for seven Oscars. The films are among DVD fans' most requested titles

大陸版的已經出了,我還帶了第一集回來看,畫質還不錯,寬螢幕,但無橫向壓縮,9元草紙,約36元台幣,還蠻值得的..

可以順便問一下各位大大:
教父的經典在那裡呢?
小弟最近剛看完第一,二集,確實有許多片有它的影子,或者拿來開玩笑(例如老大靠邊閃中就拿教父被剌的那段出來比喻父子關係..),而且跟馬丁史科西司的黑幫電影比起來,髒話與血腥程度少了許多(經常可以看到ROBERT DE NIRO MXXF的字連篇..)總覺得教父好像都是在忙一些芝麻綠豆的事....或許是科波拉想用不同的角度來描寫吧.....
以上是小弟的淺見,歡迎各位大大指教。

教父的經典在他著眼點於 黑幫老大的家庭生活 兒子 與幫會的悲劇宿命來橫跨那個時代.................在這之前 黑幫電影著重在打殺 純英雄觀的膚淺描寫...
卡破拉 是因編劇(巴頓將軍--人文觀點)得獎擠身好萊塢 所以教父 講的是人跟大時代的互動 根其它片大大的不同 ......馬丁的黑幫 完全以濃縮某個事件為主來描寫
....... 優點是 他創出了生活表演法的呈現(因此他的演員會有很多 三字經作語助詞或轉介詞) 而生活方式經驗來至當 woodstock 助導 紀錄片所得 如果你去買本 馬丁使考西司論使考西司 電影叢書就瞭解我所得......
