微軟已經於美國時間2月24日加入DVD+RW陣營:

MICROSOFT JOINS DVD+RW ALLIANCE
LOVELAND, Colorado, February 24, 2003 – The DVD+RW Alliance today announced that Microsoft Corp. has become its newest member and will be one of nine companies that sit on the Alliance’s policy-setting team, the Executive and Steering Committee. Other members of the Executive/Steering Committee are Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Mitsubishi Chemical/Verbatim, Philips, Ricoh, Sony, Thomson and Yamaha.

“In an effort to evaluate providing support for writable DVD and other digital media formats, Microsoft has decided to join the DVD+RW Alliance as a core member,” said Tom Phillips, general manager of Microsoft’s Windows Hardware Experience Group. "Microsoft is committed to the convergence and compatibility in both PC and consumer electronics applications. Microsoft is happy to become a part of the DVD+RW Alliance and help promote writable DVD standards that are aligned with the Mt. Rainier technology.”

“The Alliance is very excited to have Microsoft’s commitment to the organization,” said Maureen Weber, general manager of Hewlett-Packard’s Optical Storage Solutions Business and worldwide chair of the DVD+RW Alliance. “We look forward to working together to create and promote the best customer experience built on DVD+RW technology”.

看來+R和-R的戰火越燒越烈了....

之前微軟就表明支持+R了，只不過沒有強力表態，但.....

嗯...既然如此,
我就強烈支持 -RW 陣營,

+RW ... 就算了吧~~~:p

日後一定會有複和機出現

所以沒啥好擔心的

對啊∼
微軟也強力支持 X-BOX 啊∼
INTEL也支持 RAMBUS 啊∼

微軟在Win98也沒有支持CD燒錄機,大家還是大燒特燒。我現在的Windows XP亦一樣可以用DVD-RW。而且我相信大部份人買DVD-Writer都是用在Video方面。

微軟是系統商，支不支持+RW有什麼意義？
難不成他加入DVD+RW，以後他們公司推出的作業系統跟遊戲都用+RW來做嗎？
真是莫名其妙......||||
還是說，微軟想跨足燒錄機市場？這個倒是很新鮮呢！

我覺得微軟此舉動所代表的 象徵意義>實質意義

難道...除非..微軟想推出可利用DVD+RW錄影的XBOX 2代機嗎??

讓XBOX下一代新機不但能上網..能打GAME..能看DVD..還能錄電視節目..??!!

或許以後 xbox 2 對 +R/+RW 一定會有支援吧
對於 -R/-RW 則不一定支援
不知會不會這樣
其實最近 xbox 銷售有上升
春假時, xbox 賣的不錯
我也買了一台...
我若買 DVD recorder , 用的可不只 video ,
game 也可以...
不過還在觀望中啦...
價格沒到 4000~5000 , 絕對不買
目前需求還沒有這麼大...

唉....想說看看這兩個加減陣營可不可以和平相處的
結果看樣子好像越來越像是在互別苗頭的感覺了....
