誰能告訴我關於老晶片VIA 693A/596B的兩三事？
 

朋友因為公司電腦更新的緣故，所以清了一些垃圾給我，一顆PIII 800的CPU，一條PC-133 256MB的SDRAM，和一張DFI CA61的主機板給我，為了把這些東西和適合他時期的零件湊在一起當一台上網機，我到GOOGLE上去查了一些資料，CPU不是問題，RAM也不是問題，問題就出在於主機板的晶片組，到官方網站一查看到上面的晶片規格是VIA 693A/596B，可是在GOOGLE上我怎麼查都只找的到關於694X的文件，關於VIA 693A/596B的是少之又少，所以想請教站上各位活資料庫，能否教教我有關晶片組的事，順便指點一下，關於顯示卡--TNT或Geforce 2 MX400這兩個哪一個和上面的零件的算同期的？謝謝

和693A同期的
大約是TNT2到Geforce 256..
和TNT2同期的是Voodoo3,G400,Savage4

和Geforce2 MX400同期勉強算是Apollo Pro 266

沒記錯的話via 693晶片組效能差，相容性也差，所以沒幾家廠商有推出採用via 693晶片組的主機板，
後來威盛推出694晶片組出來，原有的低效能、低相容性獲得相當程度的改善，各家廠商才開始推出使用694晶片組的板子，
不過基本上還是敵不過當時的440BX跟i815晶片組，這兩款太強悍了。

694 跟 815 應該差不多，可是 694 規格是比較好的。

沒錯， VIA693 晶片組效能差，相容性也差...
之前用過一塊 VA693 晶片組的主機板 ASUS P2V ...
真的很差... 不能裝 Windows XP :(
440BX 強悍！

不能裝 Windows XP 基本上跟 BIOS 有關，ACPI 的問題吧！

VIA 693A/596B裡面南橋596B有bug所以不建議使用這張,
問題在從記憶體抓取圖片至硬碟的過程中,若是連續抓取數十張
圖片可以發現有幾張圖片有莫名其妙的雜點,這問題也出現在使用
燒錄機燒錄檔案時也會把檔案燒壞(不一定會全壞不過仔細找會有
幾個檔匴壞到無法使用)

結論想用就去用吧.

P2V大部分都不能裝NT
BIOS全刷過...
