PS3新版升級1.50 - 2007-1-23

Havok公司發布了最新的遊戲開發套裝“Havok 4.5”，針對索尼PS3進行了全面的優化。 使用Havok 4.5的物理引擎Havok Physics和動畫引擎Havok Animatio，PS3遊戲開發人員可以充分挖掘Cell處理器八個協處理器單元(SPU)的全部潛力，比Havok 4.0開發的一般PS3遊戲可以快5-10倍。 Havok 4.5同時也改善了微軟Xbox 360和任天堂Wii平台的遊戲開發，全面適應新一代遊戲主機環境。 目前已經有200多款遊戲在開發過程中使用了Havok SDK。除了Havok Physics和Havok Animatio，Havok還從4.0版開始引入了兩個新組件：加速交互式角色行爲的“Havok Behavior”和強化物理特效的“Havok FX”。 :D |

Sony promotes Xbox 360 racer?
PSP video download site plugs Gran Turismo HD trailer with Project Gotham Racing image. By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot Posted Jan 25, 2007 7:33 pm GMT Here we see the image on Sony's site...It's not uncommon for gamers who don't care for racing sims to look at the Gran Turismos and Project Gotham Racings of the world and wonder what the difference is. Apparently it can be hard for the companies themselves to distinguish between the various franchises, judging from the art for today's featured download (pictured, right) on Sony's PlayStation Portable video download site. The download, a new preview trailer for the downloadable PlayStation 3 offering Gran Turismo HD, features art from a game that isn't Gran Turismo HD. As Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb pointed out on his blog, it's actually a screenshot from the Xbox 360 game Project Gotham Racing 3 (pictured, below right). And here it is on the PGR3 developer's Web site.Sony released Gran Turismo HD as a free download on the PS3's online store last month. Project Gotham Racing 3 was released for the Xbox 360 in time for the system's November 2005 launch. As executives from both companies jostle for an edge in public opinion, every mistake is certain to be blown out of proportion. And so it is that a graphic designer's ill-advised decision is going to put a dent in Sony's armor. On the Sony-owned site PSP Connect, a large banner promising a Gran Turismo HD video preview uses a screenshot from Microsoft's Project Gotham Racing 3. The image on top is from PGR 3 developer Bizarre Creation's website. It is clearly the same image used on the PSP Connect banner displayed on the bottom of our graphic. Mistakes do happen and it's safe to assume Sony had no intention of using its competitors' arcade racing title to advertise Gran Turismo HD. The GT HD content this banner links to is actually by the marketing service MediaSpigot and not packaged by SCE or Sony Corp -- it's unknown who's responsible for the blundered banner itself. In a high-stakes battle for control of the next-gen gaming world, even innocent errors can become big news. Already, Microsoft's Major Nelson is reporting on the snafu as is IGN's sister site Team Xbox. Years from now, Sony execs may be able to sit back and get a good laugh out of this.
