小弟是依該網站公佈的資料下去推測的,因為照片裡...CPUDie的大小與T-bred核心的
AthlonXP大小幾乎相同是沒錯,而看他們文章顯示CPU-Z與WCPUID皆無法辨認出這款New Duron,因此推測該款應是Barton核心的L2-Cache精簡過後的版本(如果只是
以Thoroughbred-B核心下去修改的話...有可能會不被CPU-Z與WCPUID認得嗎?),所以Die的面積比較小自然就不足為奇了不是嗎?
當然,小弟剛開始也滿懷疑照片的真實性,但是CPU-Z與WCPUID的圖卻又讓人難以懷疑其真假(雖然那也有可能是假的...)...

小弟認為這款New Duron的核心應該也不是由Thoroughbred-B核心下去改的,否則
CPU-Z與WCPUID沒道理會認不得...
另外,小弟之所以會說該款New Duron是由Barton改來的原因是,AMD有可能像之前
做Spitfire、Morgen核心時一樣,製作Duron的晶圓是與製作AthlonXP的生產線分開
的,當然,核心架構應是採用Barton(也有可能是AMD並未正式公佈的K7核心,例如
Thorton...),不過在將L2-Cache整合進晶圓線路時稍作修改,只整合進64K而已...

兩個從外觀居然分辨不出來...不過Duron的核心也太大了吧..

假如不看編號的話...根本不知道誰是誰....(左Duron 1600+和右AthlonXP 2200+)

he AMD Duron �Applebred� Model 8 CPUs will have 128KB of L1 and only 64KB of L2 cache, like their predecessors. A difference between the good-old Duron processors based on Spitfire or Morgan cores is the frequency of the chips� EV-6 FSB � this time it will function at 266MHz, not 200MHz as earlier models. Obviously, the new Duron processors will inherit SSE technology and Bus Disconnect capability from Barton core, as well as advanced dynamic branch prediction and thermal diode from AMD Athlon XP processors. The chips in OPGA packages will have 1.50V Vcore and up to 57.0W maximum thermal power, according to an AMD document.

I think you hav overlooked my post...
Actually at this critical time AMD cannot afford to split up 2 different production line for Socket A CPU because they have to migrate part of the production line to produce more K8 based CPU...

That's why in order to fight with Intel in low end segment, they hav to come out with something which is suitably cheap and fast CPU.

That' why Tbred and Barton are chosen to make partially L2 Cache disabled CPU, namely Applebred and Thorton.

This 64KB Duron is based on Tbred core.
The codenamed Thorton position and naming scheme is unknown....

的確！可能真的如大大所言
AMD不太可能為Duron再開一條生產線
也許真的像INTEL閹P4一樣，就這樣直接
閹了Tbred 或是Barton！
不過還是等看到真正的東西再說吧！
搞不好這是對岸虎爛的也不一定咧！

連我的A7A266-E都有了(ALi MAGiK1晶片組)
支援度不會太差才是:)

但Barton與Thoroughbred B不是只差在L2-Cache的大小，其於皆相同，所以到底由誰改的似乎也......
