[Fast and the Furious] Sequel in the Works
The Associated Press reports that the unexpected opening-weekend success of the racing flick "The Fast and the Furious" has already spawned plans for a sequel.

Final figures show that the $38M Universal Pictures release debuted in first place with an impressive $40.1M.

The trade says producer Neal Moritz told Variety that talks about "The Fast And The Furious 2" have already begun, with writers noodling over a script. The fact that the film's final "hidden" scene doesn't play out till after the closing credits and appears to pave the way for a continuation of the storyline is also stoking talk of sequel.
